Our measures began with the refurbishment of Cal Prat to ensure good insulation, maintaining an optimum temperature in both winter and summer. Subsequently, we installed solar thermal panels to generate domestic hot water and incorporated fireplaces in the dining rooms, which supply hot air efficiently.

Over time, we have continued our commitment to renewable energy with the installation of solar panels that allow us not only to reduce electricity consumption, but also to inject surplus energy into the grid. In the bedrooms, we have installed smart electric radiators that maintain a constant temperature of 22°C, while in the dining rooms we have incorporated aerothermal systems, which provide hot air in winter and cool air in summer.

Recently, we have renewed all the doors and windows to guarantee better insulation, favouring the conservation of the temperature in all the rooms all year round. As for the heated swimming pool, we built it in a sunny area, taking advantage of natural light, and covered it with a thermal blanket when not in use, to conserve the accumulated heat.

Since the start of this project in 2005, we have been integrating sustainability labels. We started with the SICTED «Sistema Integral de Qualitat Turística en Destinacions» mark between 2009 and 2015, we continued with the European Biosphere Tourism Seal from 2016 to 2020, and we are currently adhered to the Environmental Quality Distinction of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which we have already renewed three times.

This distinction reinforces our commitment to improving aspects such as waste management, the installation of flow reducers in taps, lighting with LED lamps, the purchase of ecological products, the offer of local products, the integration of landscaping, the promotion of sustainable mobility and good communication of environmental aspects with tourists.

With this spirit of continuous improvement, we hope to continue contributing to a more responsible and sustainable tourism.
